PRACTICE MANAGEMENT

PM 400 CLINIC MANAGEMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH I/CPR (3units/30 hours)
Discussions of the basic organization of a medical office and clinic, with emphasis on office management, patient record keeping, billing procedures, legal responsibilities, and related topics.
Lectures, readings and discussions of ethics, jurisprudence, and current issues that confront the modern health practitioner, including professional liability, record keeping, patient accounts, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) regulations and referral procedures.
Prerequisite: None

PM 402 CLINIC MANAGEMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH II (3units/30 hours)
